Social Services

The Social Services Unit forms an integral part of departmental and clinical activities at Schneider Children’s, and provides psychosocial assistance to children and their families where needed. Social workers have all undergone specialized training in the specific field in which they work, and provide services following referrals by the medical team or on personal request.

Services

• Accompaniment and support of the sick child and his family in coping with the crisis of illness
• Counseling, guidance and advice for parents
• Assistance with outside community agencies: health funds, national insurance, educational institutions, welfare authorities
• 24-hour service in cases of children at risk
• Support groups for children, families and medical teams
