The Department treats children with all range of medical disorders requiring hospitalization. Each child and his family are accorded special, personal and empathetic attention. Departmental staff is highly experienced in treating infectious diseases, and conducts ongoing tests of new vaccinations and antibiotic preparations in order to provide children with the latest therapies

Schneider Children’s was established as a dedicated children’s facility with the emphasis on their special needs and hospitalization conditions, from the architectural design and operating an educational center to leisure time activities and a supportive environment for patients and their families.
Treatment, Research and Training
A special strength of Pediatrics “A” is its research laboratory established by Prof. Ashkenazi, which conducts clinical research and investigates infectious diseases. Research is one of the three components of medical excellence, together with comprehensive, personalized, and empathetic treatment, and training that aims to ensure the continuation of the quality care in the future.
Doctors’ Rounds
Examination by the attending physician, 09:30-12:00
Visit by a senior physician and the attending physician, 12:00-15:00
Treatment Nurse Coordinator
The nursing staff in the department works around the clock in three shifts. At the start of every shift, each nurse accepts the responsibility of a number of children to ensure that each child receives individual and professional attention. Nurses may be approached with any question or request.
Appointment with the Departmental Director
Prof. Gilat Livni, Director of Pediatrics “A”, is available for meetings every day between 10:00-11:00 and 15:00-16:00. Kindly speak to the departmental secretary or a senior physician to arrange an appointment.
Appointment with the Director of Nursing
Head Nurse Nina Severdalov is available to respond to questions and requests every day between 10:00-14:00.
Discharge
The decision to discharge a child is made during doctors’ morning rounds. The discharge letter will be prepared following examination by a doctor and delivered towards 15:00. Instructions for continued care and required follow-up will be given at the time of discharge.
